STEM Education Post-doc meeting - 10/22/15

Thursday, October 22, 2015 - 9:30am to 10:30am

CREATE for STEM Conference Room

From AJ: I am personally interested in better understanding learning progressions, how to develop them and assess their empirical validity, and how this curricular design can foster the transition from novice to expert knowledge. But, aside from my interest, this is a topic that is becoming increasingly popular, highlighted by Richard Duschl in his speech as keynote speaker in the CREATE mini conference of this year. I would like to use the article by Duncan & Gotwals as starting point for a general discussion about learning progression/learning trajectories in the different disciplines represented in our group and to share any experience anyone has with this topic.
