NodeXL videos

The AACR program uses NodeXL software to visualize the text analysis results produced using IBM SPSS Modeler. NodeXL allows greater flexibility in the presentation of text analysis categories, allowing us to better represent the frequency of text analysis nodes and associations among the nodes.

Here is an example of a node diagram generated from responses to a question about weight loss:

“NodeXL is a free, open-source template for Microsoft® Excel® 2007 and 2010 that makes it easy to explore network graphs. “ – NodeXL Network Graphs socialmedia Research Foundation.  http://nodexl.codeplex.com/

The following three videos demonstrate how to format data from the IBM SPSS Modeler Text Analysis for use with NodeXL. To use NodeXL you must first download the template from http://nodexl.codeplex.com/. Once this template is installed on your computer, you can use the modified template “NodeXLPrepTextAnalysis” at the bottom of this page for easy formatting of data from the IBM SPSS Modeler Text Analysis Interactive Workbench to the standard NodeXL format.
