I graduated from Western Michigan University with my Ph.D. in Science Education: Biological Sciences. My Master's and Bachelor's degrees are in Biological Sciences. For my dissertation research, I examined how the conceptual framework of animal behavior is portrayed in textbooks and how it aligns with the primary literature. At MSU I have two postdoc positions. I began in September 2014 working with Dr. Jon Stoltzfus and Dr. Christina Schwarz on a CREATE for STEM LPF-CMP funded project that is examining undergraduate modeling activities and how students use them in sense-making. While continuing this position, I started working for CEER's AACR (Automated Analysis of Constructed Response) project in March 2015.
