The College of Natural Science, in collaboration with the Create for STEM Institute, is once again making funds available to encourage Departments to invite speakers in their discipline who are experts on research-validated teaching practices to give colloquia on their methods and results. To this end, the college will provide matching funds during the 2014-15 academic year for STEM education colloquium speakers. The CNS Dean’s Office will support 50% of speaker expenses up to a maximum of $500. Departments are responsible for travel arrangements for speakers.
Renee Bayer (firstname.lastname@example.org) in Create for STEM is coordinating this program – please contact her if you are interested in participating. Renee also can provide a list of STEM education research speakers and topics that have been suggested by MSU faculty.
