Dr. Ginger Shutlz will be the next speaker in our fall lineup of seminars - we are so pleased to have her here with us! Ginger earned a Ph.D. in polymer chemistry at the University of Oregon, where she also taught hands-on science to elementary school children through an NSF GK-12 fellowship. Her interests then turned to education-focused research through a teaching postdoc in Chemistry at the University of Michigan, where she joined the faculty in the Department of Chemistry in 2016. Her group investigates student learning in problem-based organic chemistry lab courses, the development of graduate students knowledge for teaching chemistry, and writing-based strategies for learning in STEM.
Please join us on Wednesday, 10/9, at noon for Dr. Shultz's presentation on 'Capturing Student Reasoning About Molecular Structure and Behavior'.
As always, light refreshments will be provided, but feel free to bring your lunch.
