University Outreach and Engagement and International Studies and Programs have partnered together on the Global Engagement Speaker Series. The series brings internationally renowned community engagement scholars to campus for a public talk and for a variety of interactions--class visits, department lunches, individual meetings with faculty and staff.
The fall speaker is Norbert Steinhaus, Coordinator of Living Knowledge: The International Science Shop Network (See https://www.livingknowledge.org/) that aims to foster public engagement with, and participation in, all levels of research and innovation process. For the past 18 years, he has cooperated with international projects on citizen participation in science and technology and responsible research and innovation. Steinhaus holds a degree in agriculture from Bonn University.
