All faculty and staff involved in running ULA / tutoring / peer educator programs at MSU are invited to this conversation to identify shared needs related to running high quality peer educator programs in our academic units. Designed as a follow-up to Dr. Valerie Otero’s December 2018 visit to campus, participants will discuss needs as they relate to (1) creating a culture on campus that values the role of peer educators; (2) challenges and opportunities in recruiting and hiring of peer educators; (3) training and development models; and (4) data management, assessment and evaluation. At the end of this conversation, the group will have the opportunity to identify the shared needs that, if met with additional resources, could have the biggest impact on our shared ability to run high quality programs in our disciplines and professional fields. Next steps will include a report to leaders of sponsoring units and the identification of a team to map out next steps related to implementation of ideas generated in this meeting.
Lunch will be available beginning at 11:15.
