Chris serves as director of policy and strategic partnerships for CREATE. In this role, he co-leads the NextGeneration Project-Based Learning (NextGenPBL) initiative at CREATE, which supports teachers and districts as they begin to implement CREATE materials and approaches in classrooms in Michigan, Wisconsin, and California. Chris brings 30+ years of experience and expertise in communications and education policy to Institute efforts. He has worked on education reform efforts at the local, state and national levels in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington DC and Michigan. His goal is to help the Institute and its partners communicate effectively about their research and development efforts to multiple audiences, including researchers, practitioners, policymakers, funding organizations and the public. Chris earned his A.B. in English from Dartmouth College and his Ph.D. in Curriculum, Teaching, and Educational Policy from Michigan State University.
