CREATE for STEM Institute's former associate director of STEM Teacher Education has recently published the book "Growing and Sustaining Student-Centered Science Classrooms" with HEP, available now.
In the book, Stroupe's message is that creating and expanding knowledge building practices are needed in science education. He shares his experiences in classroom communities in which all students are invited, engaged, and included in doing science. Stroupe promotes ambitious methods, such as 'talk moves', to demonstrate that flexible teaching can increase student participation, which in turn, can begin to address injustices in STEM classroom communities.
We wish Dr. Stroupe well as he transitions to a new position at the University of Utah as an associate professor. Congratulations and best wishes, David!
