Kellogg Biological Station offers free summer science program

GALS is a free summer science program designed for high school students to engage in hands-on learning while camping and backpacking in the wilderness.

Over the course of two weeks, participants dive into topics like ecology and earth science, exploring the natural world alongside local scientists. The program aims to inspire a passion for environmental science and conservation, build leadership skills, sharpen critical thinking, and foster teamwork.

GALS welcomes all students to apply.  GALS was designed to attract students who have not historically succeeded in science, such students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, and other groups previously excluded from STEM fields.

Applications are open now through March 2, 2025. Contact Misty Klotz with questions at klotzmis@msu.edu.
