Health in Our Hands (HIOH) is curriculum for middle school life science that aligns with Michigan Science Standards, uses project-based learning to investigate critical community health concerns, connects the classroom to the community, builds social and emotional competencies, and introduce STEM careers.

When?
4 Half-days, virtual professional learning; Tu-F, July 28-31; 8:45 a.m. – noon
1-hour (optional) intro meeting ; Fri. July 24 (9:00-10:00 a.m.)
Continued support including afterschool webinars (1 ½ hrs.) every other week beginning in Sept. (TBD by group)
Where? Virtual; online learning plus short asynchronous assignments

NOTE: With funding from National Institutes of Health, participating teachers and districts in Genesee, costs of all professional learning (PL), curriculum supplies, and related activities are paid for by the HiOH project for the next several years. Teachers are compensated for their time in PL and data collection activities.
