ABOUT

Kristen Bieda is a mathematics education professor and is the Associate Director of Mathematics for the CREATE for STEM Institute. She is also the interim chairperson of the Department of Teacher Education.

Her research focuses on classroom practices related to reasoning and proof in middle grades and secondary mathematics, to inform teacher education, curriculum, and professional development programs. She also investigates new models for secondary mathematics clinical experiences and digital mathematics curricula for the secondary level that enhance student collaboration and teacher practice by integrating learning analytics.

Bieda is a former secondary and undergraduate mathematics teacher and is currently the President of the Michigan Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators.
