Lili Yan is a learning scientist and Research Associate at the CREATE for STEM Institute at Michigan State University. She received her Ph.D. in Instructional Technology and Learning Sciences from Utah State University in 2023. Prior to her Ph.D. program, Lili has over six years of experience teaching English in higher education institutions in China. Her research focuses on community-based and design-based approaches to understanding how people learn through interactions within and across natural, cultural, and technology-supported environments. Lili’s work is grounded in partnerships with multicultural teams of researchers, educators, and designers who share a common goal of reimagining learning environments through emerging technologies, particularly AI and immersive technologies. She currently serves on the Early Career Researcher Editorial Board for the British Journal of Educational Technology.
