The Program in Mathematics Education (PRIME), part of the College of Natural Science at Michigan State University, hosted the inaugural Mathematics and Statistics Associations Summit on Saturday, March 23, 2019. The goal of the summit was to bring together leaders of influential professional organizations within the field of mathematics, statistics, and mathematics education to continue the important conversation surrounding the future of mathematics and statistics education. 

Dr. Joan Ferrini-Mundy (President, University of Maine, and past Chief Operating Officer of the National Science Foundation) presented the keynote address outlining the nature and influence of funding agencies on setting the research priorities of the educational research landscape.
