Congratulations to Bob Geier on his new $1.9M award from the Institute of Education Sciences (IES)! This award will help to push the work forward that originated from the former ELeVATE project, which focused on middle school science and how the concepts of energy are taught. The NEW ELeVATE will target high school physics courses and the teaching of energy concepts using real-world phenomena that students can relate to in their everyday lives.

Michigan State University Distinguished Professor Joseph Krajick, David Fortus of the Weizmann Institute of Science (Israel), Knut Neumann of the Leibinz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (Germany) and Jeff Nordine of the University of Iowa College of Education will join Geier in this new research.
