College of Education team presents at Physics Education Research Conference (PERC) 2025

A team of researchers from the MSU College of Education presented at the August 2025 Physics Education Research Conference (PERC), part of the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT)  which has a long and celebrated history. Read more about how the AAPT came to be

The focus of the PERC 2025 conference was on examining the ways that physics education research can continue to contribute to the larger discussion around quantum science and its evolution.

Lucky Nonyelum, Dr. Clausell Mathis, Dr. Ozlem Akccil Okan, and Mathilda Smith presented a poster titled "Framing Towards Culturally Relevant Practice in Nigeria High school Physics Education". Their study draws on interviews with two in-service physics teachers in Nigeria to explore how they manage systemic barriers that affect physics teacher approaches to teaching and work to reshape physics instruction in ways that connect with their students.

Congratulations to Lucky and the research team for being selected to present at this prestigious event!
