MSU faculty member and CREATE researchers collaborate to increase scientific curiosity in students

We are so proud of our Health in Our Hands team for their wonderful research and work with community partners over the years, as well as an innovative collaboration with MSU's Dr. David Lowry, a plant biologist, whose research focus is on monkeyflowers, and how they can be used to teach genetic and evolutionary concepts. 

The Mystery of the Monkeyflower, a graphic novel, follows fictional characters Maia and William as they explore genetics and evolution through the study of a vibrant yellow flower with markings resembling a monkey’s face. This graphic novel aims to make complex concepts more accessible and engaging for students, and is the culmination of the talent and work of:
