CREATE for STEM director Joe Krajcik and former CREATE research associate, Tingting Li, now an Assistant Professor at Washington State University, were recently featured in a news series focusing on AI and how this technology will affect teachers, students and schooling in general in the near future.
Rather than replacing teachers, researchers say the technology is designed to give them more flexibility in meeting the diverse needs of students. Tingting Li is helping to build the ADAPT AI system, which is designed to assist teachers in building lesson plans.
We are honored to be considered relevant and important contributors to the conversation around AI and education. CREATE is involved in several AI-related projects that emphasize supporting teachers, not replacing them. Our research projects will continue to study how generative AI can increase engagement in students while keeping teachers at the center of the learning experience.
