Generative artificial intelligence is changing how faculty in the College of Natural Science are teaching. Professor Melanie Cooper is developing her own AI-powered chatbot to give students instant, detailed feedback on homework—and eventually, on exams

Using the award-winning Multiple Literacies in Project-Based Learning (ML-PBL) curriculum as a starting point, the newly developed Collaborate Science (ColSci) curriculum will focus on 4th grade students and is designed to promote the teaching and learning of science and literacy in the rural south.

The Michigan GALS program will begin and end at the Kellogg Biological Station, located at 3700 East Gull Lake Drive, Hickory Corners, and will run from July 12-26, 2025.
