We are excited to announce the dates for the CREATE Community Talks series for spring semester. A huge thank you to everyone who joined the organizational meetings—your ideas, questions, and thoughtful suggestions were essential in shaping what this series will become.
Upcoming dates are (all at 1pm in the CREATE seminar space):
Thursday, January 29, 2026
Tuesday, February 24, 2026
Thursday, April 2, 2026
Tuesday, April 28, 2026
Community Talks is about creating opportunities to engage, spark new collaborations, and strengthen our research community, especially for junior researchers. Senior faculty and experienced researchers are invited to participate, exchange ideas, and connect with colleagues—while helping junior scholars build confidence and experience in leading scholarly conversations.
We were fortunate to feature Emily Bolger and Mao-Jen Tseng at two meetings this fall, where they generously shared their work. Slide decks are attached below. Presenters are needed for spring dates! If you are interested, please contact Danny Caballero or Sue Carpenter.
And, with conference season just around the corner, mark your calendars! We’ve reserved Monday, April 6, 2026, for a special Presentation Practice Day—a chance to do a low-stakes, friendly, dry run of your conference talk. CREATE will provide the space and refreshments.
Detailed information about times, how to sign up to present, etc...will be shared soon.
