The Science of Salt exhibit explores salt on our dinner tables, on icy roads in winter, and deep underground and considers how this everyday mineral has a much bigger story than most people realize. We explore how rock salt, also known as halite, has shaped human history, fueled scientific discoveries, and played an important role in everyday life. Long before refrigerators existed, salt helped preserve food and was so valuable that it was traded like currency in some parts of the world.
In addition to The Science of Salt, check out Blurred Realities, an exhibit that asks the question "Why do we do easily accept some fabrications while questioning others?" Technology plays a bigger role than ever in shaping how we see the world. It influences the information we encounter, the conversations we have, and the opinions we form. But it can also amplify biases, reinforce divisions, and make it harder to know what to trust. This exhibition invites you to look beyond the surface, question the stories and assumptions you encounter, and think about the forces that shape how we understand the world around us.
