NextGen Project-Based Learning

Next Generation Project Based Learning logo

The NextGen Project Based Learning initiative was created in order to provide support for teachers and districts interested in shifting their instructional practices and goals toward 3D project-based learning. CREATE has developed NSF-funded, NGSS-aligned, research-based curriculum materials and instructional strategies for every grade band.

We aim to provide high-quality support for teachers and districts interested in shifting their instructional practices and goals toward 3D project-based learning. We know that successful adoption and implementation of new curricula and teaching strategies can be greatly enhanced with scaffolded support for teachers and administrators.

Scaffolded support for teachers:

  • Introduction and Orientation: Face to face preparations;
  • 3-5 days; highly interactive; introduces both big ideas and the actual instructional units
  • Professional Learning Communities: weekly online structured, facilitated sessions that cover problems of practice and deeper knowledge about NGSS, 3-D learning; 10 per semester
  • Supplemental Face to Face Sessions: introducing later units; 1-2 per semester
