CREATE for STEM hosts, sponsors and supports STEM education research happenings around MSU. Please let us know if there are conferences, workshops, presentations, etc... that you would like posted on the CREATE Events page and we will do our best to help.
We hosted Dr. Sara Vogel from City University in New York, and Qian Wu from East China Normal University during Fall 2025. In the spring, a new series called CREATE Community Talks was launched in an effort to give opportunities to junior researchers to share their work, offer support and advice, and allow for open conversation around current research projects. Plans are underway for next year's series; we will share more information later in the summer.
Our eleventh mini-conference is just around the corner! Please plan to join us on Tuesday, May 12th, in the STEM Teaching & Learning building, where we have held the event the past two years. See below for more information about our keynote speaker and registration. Two exciting things about this year's program: 1) we're hosting our first ever mathematics scholar as keynote speaker and 2) 'lightning talks', or three-minute speed talks, will be part of the mini-conference experience prior to the poster session. For a researcher, having a three-minute 'elevator pitch' at-the-ready is one of the most important tools to keep in the toolbox. We are hoping that this practice session will help researchers get comfortable summarizing their work succinctly and in lay-persons language.
Thank you for a great year of gatherings in CREATE! We hope to see you on Tuesday, May 12, whether you are presenting a poster or lightning talk, or attending to learn about colleagues' research.
