Immersive Visualization Institute (IVI): Summer Institute about Digital Display Technology Platforms
Applications for this summer institute are due this Friday, April 16th!
This virtual/hybrid (depending on current COVID-19 conditions) summer institute allows selected graduate students and faculty members to explore the pedagogic possibilities of three exciting large-scale immersive visualization display platforms available at MSU:
- The Abrams Planetarium
- 360 Degree Panoramic Room in the Library’s Digital Scholarship Lab
- Science On a Sphere at the MSU Museum
Immersive Visualization Institute (IVI) Graduate Fellows will learn about the affordances and limitations of each technology and how they are best suited for different types of visual representation. Participants will investigate innovative and interdisciplinary ideas for capitalizing on one or more of the platforms and produce a participation outcome using the technologies (e.g., teaching module, research, outreach program element, artwork) by the end of August 2021.
