In Praise of Science Teachers: Essential Partners in Researching, Reframing and Reforming Science Learning is this year's focus for the NARST annual conference. The event will be held at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.
The acronym NARST, traditionally standing for the National Association for Research in Science Teaching, reminds us that science teaching cannot exist without science teachers. This conference aims to highlight and celebrate the essential work of science teachers, acknowledging their role in inspiring and enabling the work of science education researchers. The theme is inclusive, recognizing that science teaching encompasses engineering education and various forms of engagement in both disciplines. It extends beyond formal settings to include educators, parents, families, and community members, all of whom contribute to the research process. The conference will emphasize the important contributions of science teachers in shaping and improving science education.
CREATE for STEM will be involved in many sessions - stay tuned for a comprehensive list!
