Join us in CREATE for our Community Talks series! This year, we are expanding our offerings and rotating days of the week in the hopes that this will allow for more participation. NOTE: All sessions will be held in CREATE's seminar space from 12:30pm-1:30pm unless otherwise notified.
Demystifying AI in STEM Education series (new!): we hope to explore AI literacy, pedagogical applications and the future of AI in scientific work and research. Conversations will be lead by community members to address recent research, news, opportunities and challenges. These sessions will be in-person, recorded, and potentially offered on Zoom, depending on thoughts shared at the first meeting.
** Sessions are scheduled for 9/8, 10/7, 11/3, and 12/2 (9/8 will be a planning session; all ideas are welcomed).
Research Mentoring and Discussion Forum: where junior researchers are given the opportunity to share their work in a friendly, low-stakes environment and get feedback from colleagues, friends, and peers (senior faculty are welcome and encouraged to share their experiences and wisdom), and we discuss topics such as translating ideas into grant proposals and navigating the publication process. This year, we will offer credit for RECR certification to graduate students (in-person attendance required).
**Sessions scheduled for 9/22, 10/21, 11/17, and 12/1 (9/22 will be to discuss and plan key questions and identify discussion leaders).
