I am now retired but am doing project consultations related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.
My research interests are in theories of cognition, how these theories inform the design of instruction, how we might best design instructional technology within those frameworks, and how the research and development of instructional technologies can inform our theories of cognition.
Kui Xie, Ph.D.
Kui Xie, a noted educational psychology and educational technology scholar, became chair of the Michigan State University Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Special Education on July 1, 2023. Dr. Xie comes to MSU from the Ohio State University. During his 11 years at OSU, Dr. Xie fostered partnerships with 25 middle and high schools across Ohio. He estimates he and his team served over 2,000 teachers and 15,000 students across various initiatives. At OSU, Dr.
